The Danger of Congress and a President who are Both Spend Crazy

Doesn't anybody see the problem of a congress and a president that can pass laws to force the American taxpayer to buy companies, homes and who knows what that we the people do not want to invest in?

What is next when the congress and the president perceives another need for all of us to invest in; another business venture they believe is worthy of our money? Why don’t these people ask us what we want to do before they spend our money? I understand that each American household’s debt is over $30,000.00 to date with a likely doubling coming soon.

Size matters when it comes to debt.

1 trillion ($1,000,000,000,000) is 1000 times bigger than 1 billion dollars.

Costs per new job

President Obama is arguing that the stimulus bill will create up to 4 million new jobs.

Young notes that if that happens, each job would come at a cost of $206,250 - four times the average annual household income in the United States.

Costs per job

True but the residual benefit will be the permanent infrastructure, buildings, and other things of a temporary or permanent nature.

Cost is a factor

$206,250 per job multiplied by how many jobs are created divided by each taxpayer just may cost more than any benefit in as much as it raises taxes and costs businesses too much to keep their doors open. Most jobs are created by small business not AIG corporations.

Small business cannot compete with either the state or federal governments.
